Text

I met my husband, Muredach, when I got a job at Down Connor Catholic Family Welfare in 1969. The Co - ordinating Committee for Relief (of people driven out of their homes) met in that office on the Falls Road. Muredach was secretary of that committee. We went on our first date to the now defunct Skandia Restaurant in College Square, Belfast. We got married on the 4th of July 1972. The wedding was in the Sacred heart Church in Cloughmills. The reception was at Ballygally Castle Hotel. It was a very wet day. Aunt Mary Jo did the flowers in the Church. I forget where I got the bouquets. My dress was a rich gold and cream brocadey stuff - and Paula's bridesmaid dress as well as Ma's beautiful outfit came from Renee McNeely's. Carmel made the lovely cake.
