It is often said if you want something done in life, ask a busy person. For a few years several members of Cavehill Bowling Club had talked about organizing a tour for members during the holiday period. Alas, it didn't happen but yes, you have guessed right, I was asked to arrange one. So, that summer, six car loads of us headed for the Larne to Stranaer ferry and then onwards to Troon in Scotland. I had arranged a few mixed bowling matches with the local club, and also a few others in the area and a good time was had for all. On the way home the cry, especially from those living alone, was where are you taking us next year? Well, for many years after, we went not only to many places in the British Isles but also Spain -great times enjoyed by many bowlers and lots of happy memories.
